Today I caught a butterfly

Wanted to make him love me but then he died

He was very crunchy, and I was very sad

The other toads are all stuck up and mean

Or from a distance I guess that's how most of them seem

It gets really scary trying to figure out whatever I'm supposed to croak back to them

I'm tougher than time

Underrated in my prime

I'm so strong and lumpy

A man's boot wouldn't totally squish me

And I know there's somewhere out there some toad will forgive me

So maybe I ate a couple of their dumb little babies, oh, one or two times

Maybe all of us are saved, in the abstract, by and by

I'm a regular guy,

Just hungry and I'm wild,

And I want to get married in the leaves

I'll guard the babies for my wife

I think toads guard the eggs or something, right?

Or maybe that is frogs

I'm not a toad like they think I should be

Because I guess if they're friends I'm not supposed to eat them

But I do sometimes if I am hungry or it's easy

Cause I am basically an aquatic skin computer fighting brutally for my own survival
