Out Of Reach

This afternoon I drove my car into the dirty city

I badly needed a new tyre

It was nearly flat and so worn down it was not pretty

Just like me when I retire

I watched the body language and facial expressions of some passing strangers on the street

Some of them had heads hung low and eyes fixed to a screen

Others were shuffling their feet

So I wonder to myself.

I wonder what it is that all of us are searching for.

What does anybody want?

What does anybody need?
