It was a heated argument that evening

He left packing

He said he had tolerated enough

And above all self worth over disrespect

Peace of mind over all and that was all he wanted

I was in tears because it was late so I feared

And I wondered where he would lay his head

Dad and mom were far gone before he was 16

Dad was hard to visualize

But mom was the figure he could figure out even with his eyes closed
