Or living in a hood that was known to rob cribs

Parents stayed together but we did what we did

I reminisce when you and mom scooped me after my bid

I went to make an amends to everyone I did wrong to

And lift it up in prayer for all the things that we go through

Eyes staying wide through the life that we ride through

But still a Believer, no matter what life do

Yet the way we slide through be hazy at times

So many miles away but you stay on my mind

It's unconditional love for this whole family of mine

But I could reiterate a good reason to pray

Sometimes in my heart, it feels like we all we got

From the cradle, to the crib, to some kids on the block

I'm reminiscing a lot and I know I played my part

But God is still sovereign, like it or not

That don't mean to give up, we just turning the page

We all write our book of life regardless of age

It's like our tears are our umbrellas in them rainy days

I use the word as a compass to navigate the maze

We go through many things and don't even know why

God is one prayer away from every night that we cry

The present is a gift but we call it a life

From the break of dawn's light to the falling of night

That's why I called out to Christ, with my hands in the air

There's other nights I'm wondering if He's even there

But one thing that is clear, there's still reasons we here
