Promised Land

Long ago we walked along a dark and lonely trail as we sifted through the sand

In tattered rags we stare across this lost and lonely plain searching for our promised land

Over the horizon far beyond the mountain tops will we make it or be dammed

In the life I live there is both tenderness and pain I feel them both when i take you hand

If I find path through those misty mountains tall can we both be on our way
