I didn't know

When I was making promises I couldn't keep

The weight of the words that were spilling out of me

They felt so right under my tongue

If I had known I wouldn't have said them

And at night when I get worried

I think of bedtime stories and

New wave songs, boys I've wronged

And I remember, how I used to think of our future

We'd move out of our childhood homes

And burn all of our baby clothes
