This song truly moved me to prayer. What has God specifically called me to do? What does He desire for me to engage in every single day? What is that singular pursuit that will ultimately allow me to declare I've led a fulfilling life? Life is fleeting, and often, when we realize we are not there yet, it becomes troubling. God has beckoned us towards a life filled with purpose, one that transcends mere work, family time, and so forth; there lies another, profoundly significant thing, as Paul mentioned. 1 Corinthians 9:25-26: [25] "And every competitor exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. [26] So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air." We must not persist in running with discipline yet on the wrong path. The most tragic outcome would be to run diligently, only to secure the incorrect reward. This underlines the importance of true discovery, of being absolutely certain. Life is bound by time, and it relentlessly ticks away. But, in the end, will it have been worthwhile? "For many race, yet they chase after what is perishable; they strive in a manner to secure what is fleeting, but I aim to pursue the Eternal!" What, then, is your true purpose? That singular calling? 2 Timothy 4:7-8: [7] "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. [8] Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing." Paul was certain! He had assurance! He was fully convinced!
