Kneel

I had a heart of gold that Cortez killed me for.

Beneath a harvest moon he slew me on the shore.

After the gold rush his fever did not dim

And I could only pray this same fate would come to him.

I was an old man and a southern man as well

He left me on the beach to rot and go to Hell.

I kneel before the king, he makes me feel so young

With every note he's played and every song he's sung.

I'm helpless in his presence even though he isn't real

I'm certain tonight's the night and so I kneel.
