Functional Dysfunction

Walking down a busy street, eyes remain glued to my feet

Don't look up, don't look around, don't draw the attention of all the crowds

I am an outcast that no one notices, loneliness keeps my feelings all repressed

I am the only one I trust, but self deprecation leads me to disgust

When will these thoughts leave me alone

My head's the one place I called home

An emptiness resides in me, it's causing self imposed deceit

Something I do for my own sake, is glue myself to stop the breaks

All alone in this city that I walk, go in circles it's myself that I stalk

Nothing will get me through, this endless hell of subterfuge
