Gone Gone

In a letter she'd left behind knowing I would read

She told her tale of moving on that I struggled to believe

She said she'd met and fallin' in love with another man

And gave the reasons why she left hoping that I'd understand

I didn't know she was miserable 'cause I couldn't see

I'd tried to be the very man that she wanted me to be

But in doing so I lost myself along the way

An' now I knew that was what she was trying to convey as she was

Gone gone to a place where she could belong

She was gone gone left me here all on my own
