Tide

We sat on the beach and watched the mountains rise up from the sea

Watched the clouds above and trees sprout up before our eyes

They didn’t believe that we had been there from the start

So they called it luck, said we were just in the right place, the right time

But they were so blind, and we know it was more like the right state of mind

The waves crashing upon the shore

Painted a picture there in time

And it was framed by cliffs on three sides

And encroached upon the other by the rising tide
