Lyrics
Wintertime and icicles are twinkling
Old Man Winter will see one more day
Snowflakes cascade as gentle as angels
And bluebirds sing as Ann comes out to play
She once heard a story of a snowman, so they say
Whom a child's wish could bring to life on a joyful winter day
She rolled three balls of fluffy snow and a lengthy carrot nose
A mouth of yarn, some coal for eyes and a tophat with a rose
She wished for him with all her soul and wished he'd soon arrive
A flash of Christmas magic and the snowman was alive
"Happy birthday!" said the snowman, his smile sparked a glow
"How are you?" Ann asked him and he said, "I don't know"
"Can I help you?" Ann remarked, "What do you require?
Anything you want," she said, "What is your heart's desire?"
"Well," the snowman pondered, "The tophat's nice and all
But I could do without it, for it makes me look too tall"
"Of course," Ann smiled softly, "I'll take it off for you"
And so she did, of it she rid
The snowman looked anew
"You are so kind," the snowman said, "But there's still something wrong
This lovely carrot nose I have is simply much too long"
"Say no more," Ann said, "I will remove it in a snap"
And so she did, of it she rid
For the noseless snowman chap
"Thank you miss, for all of this, but I must also say
I have such eyes that I despise, please take them both away?"
"As you wish," Ann followed, "I will take them if it's right"
And so she did, of them she rid
And the snowman had no sight
"I thank you," said the snowman, "But it emerges that
For what I know, three balls of snow make me much too fat"
"Alright," Ann said abidingly, "I'll help you with this thing"
And so she did, of them she rid
Leaving just his mouth of string
The snowman still aspired, "Could you please set me free?
This mouth of yarn, so damned and darned, does not look good on me"
"If it brings you pain," Ann said, "I'll help you with a trim"
And so she did, of it she rid
Leaving nothing left of him
The icicles were twinkling as the winter breathed its last
The snowy season comes and goes just as life moves fast
Especially for Mr. Snowman, his life was short and plain
Never happy with himself, he couldn't take the pain
The snowman lived unhappily and sooner wished to die
And so he did, he sadly bid
The world a soft goodbye
