Clocking in everyday to make this bread

But there's so much I'd rather do instead

Need a break, a month away from work

But that's not one of the perks

Only get a few weeks away from here

So I spend it at the beach collecting shells

I could take time do what my heart desires

But it's easier to wait until I retire

But all the time in the world doesn't come with youth

We just say that it does to have an excuse

We give up on our hopes and dreams

Chasing them isn't easy as it seemed

As a kid I could run without stopping

But now some days I struggle walking

And sometimes life can be so draining

But I still join in while they're complaining

Knowing deep down I could make the change

Break away from my imaginary cage

Make my life into a work of art

But I don't feel worthy of the part

I haven't been successful at my job

So maybe my ambition should stop

Maybe my life's only worth the 9-5

But I'll never know unless I take the dive
