First of I'd like to say it's good to be back

Returning to the place that I lived, it brings me back

Life is different here when I was young I didn't see that

But my perspectives changed and I think more people need that

I look around and I see kids begging for money and food

They just wander around cos they got nothing better to do

The other day some kid asked me if he could clean my shoes

Instead of working in the streets this boy should be at school

Even I got some family in the slums

Before my daddy made it even he had none

So I look up to him and the man he's become

And it gives me more motivation when I get things done, yeah

The peace is not better

The conflicts not done yet and it just may never

I sensed it in Addis and around Jigjiga

Something has to be done cos this can't go on forever, nah

Cos all around there's inequality

What happened to the love, now all I see is animosity

It's clear to see why most of our world still lives in poverty

I'm wondering what it takes for us to treat each other properly, yeah

I wanna thank my mum for making this trip happen for me

No I don't know what I would do without her honestly

And I thank my dad for all the lessons he taught me

Without them I would be on the streets probably
