Lyrics
Let me tell you a story 'bout a man named Job
Job was a man, he was a righteous man
Took care of his family
He did the best he can
Now Satan went out to the presence of God
God said "Have you considered my servant Job, there's no one like him"
"Well of course God, that's cause you're always protecting him,"
"You won't let me touch him or nothin'"
God said, "OK Satan, everything he has is in your hands."
But you can't touch him
The Satan fled from the presence of God, aww
Servant came to Job and said, "They killed all your oxen"
Fire came from the sky and burnt up your sheep
Your house fell down and killed all your kids
Job tore his robe and this is what he said
"Naked I came into this world and naked I will return"
In all of this, Job did not sin
Now Satan went back to the presence of God
God said, "See I told you Satan, his integrity is still intact"
Skin for skin, God. A man will do anything to spare his life
God said, "OK Satan, his life is in your hands"
But you can't kill him
The Satan fled from the presence of God, aww
Satan gave him a disease, big ugly boils
Had to take broken pottery and scrape at his flesh
He was sitting around in a big pile of ashes
His wife said, "Job, curse God and die"
You foolish woman, shall we take good from God and not bad
In all of this, Job did not sin
Job didn't sin, even when his three friends were talking to him
So God took care of him
He restored him, let me, let me tell you what he did
Gave him back his family and all of his stuff too
The loser in all of this
The dude from the abyss
Now this was a story 'bout a man named Job
Job was a man, he was a righteous man
Took care of his family
He did the best
He did the best
He did the best
Job did the best he
Can
