It wasn't a dream

It was my worst nightmare

The worst thing you could get told

You could lose your life

I was sixteen one day at work

I started to feel pains that really hurt

Hurt so bad I wanted to scream and shout

So I went to the hospital to get checked out

Scan after scan it just showed blood

A few months later revealed a lump

At seventeen I got diagnosed

When the doctor told me my face just froze

He said it's renal cell let's get it out

Quarter of my kidney I found myself without

Two weeks weeks later received a letter

It was from the surgeon it said I was better

Two months later another appointment

And that when to my disappointment

Ewing's sarcoma is what is is

That's the result from the histologist

He said I'm so sorry we were wrong

Nine months of chemo if you want to live long

And that's when I just felt low

Felt like there were nowhere to go

Three weeks later I started my treatment

For the next nine months were to be different

Not knowing how you're going to feel

A lot of drugs to help you heal

You see two week later my hair fell out

That's when my mind filled with self doubt

At first I was scared to be bald

Because all I could think was the names I'd be called

Up and down I've had my lows

The way I feel no-one knows

I thought to myself I'm too young to die

There's even been time's when it's made me cry

On my seventh lot of chemo I felt my worst

Walked out of hospital ignored the nurse

I thought to myself I need a break

Three weeks off I told them straight

See in that time

I picked myself up

I felt a lot better

Had made my mind up

Finish my treatment

Get it all done

Look forward to the day
