Lyrics
It's the simple things I remember
The rain that just missed me on Atlantic City streets
Sleeping outside at the foot of Trump's Tower
Then the big slab of rock with a shape like a bed with a pillow
Most uncomfortable damn bed ever, but better than ground
The women on the road drift in and out of mind
It was a tough time, working for the peace movement
They gave and took like the good folks they were
And the men made me feel like I was doing ok, all grown up
Even though I wasn't
The early days were in poverty
But oh man how different than today
Much richer in content and excitable
My whole future was ahead, undiluted
Possible
It's not a place I'd want to be again
But man what a trail what a crazy love
The people now ghosts, beautiful sexy ghosts
In the sunrises with we are a circle within a circle
And the food not bombs folks feeding us
And we were against the tyrants
We were on the right side
All different races, poor and rich, famous and nobody's
We were for something, hippie patriots
In love with life and each other
And time
In total love with time
