Ordinary is far from the adjectives used to describe artist She’Chinah. Singing for as long as she can remember, the Memphis native started her love for music within her church choir.“I have no idea how,”she says.“But when I sing the frustration I get with being misunderstood and unheard completely goes away and I am soothed. Music loved me first really, so I fell for it back.”Unable to listen to the faintest notes of secular music during her youth, She’Chinah didn’t find her voice until years later. As a senior in high school, She’Chinah began placing her lyrical transparency to paper in (early/late) 2014. A year later during her matriculation into the University of Memphis, she strived to further developed her musical career while recording features for other fellow musicians. Inspired by her entrepreneurial parents, She’Chinah decided to take her God-given talent and step into the spotlight. Originating from a musically inclined family, her calm yet heavy voice has finally found it’s place. Unlike some musicians, She’Chinah uses her music to face reality instead of escape. The free-spirited singer prides her music for being authentic and relatable.
