Established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in 1979, the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) responds to the national and local communications needs of the Church through an annual collection which is held in most dioceses in May. Many of Catholic Communication Campaign songs, like God Of Mercy, become very popular and trendy online with great number of streaming and downloads on Boomplay.

Dioceses participating in the collection keep half of the proceeds to support local communications efforts such as televised Masses and diocesan newspapers, and send the remaining funds to the national CCC office to support the development and production of a wide range of communication initiatives that are carried out by USCCB staff and grantee organizations.

Through websites, social networks, television, radio, and print, the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) helps the Church spread the Gospel message through the media locally and nationally. Half of all donations to the CCC collected in your diocese stay in your diocese to support your local communications needs, such as radio and television programming and diocesan publications. The CCC provides livestream and event coverage for the bishops meeting twice a year, the V Encuentro, Pope Francis' 2015 visit to the United States, and other regional and national events.

CCC funds also support communications projects in developing areas of the world where the Church is growing but lacking in resources. The CCC supports the Cardinal Foley Scholarship program which provides funds for training Catholic Communicators from those areas of the world so that they have the tools necessary to spread the Gospel message in the 21st century.

When a Diocese collects funds for the CCC, 50% of the proceeds remain within those dioceses for communications projects and initiatives. Examples include website enhancements, studio equipment for audio and video recording, social media strategy and implementation, news and event coverage, and much more.
