"Moon Cycles is an EP that breaks the lo-fi mold, and does so incredibly well. Crucial to the EP is the cohesive sound between songs. “Dreamcatcher” plays on a distinctive sound and contrast, most evident in the hi-fi sound of the vocals and the more lo-fi, vinyl vibe of the accompanying track. ”Shiver” lives up to its name, bringing a sort of shivering, heady rhythm that equally invokes heat coming off pavement and putting on an extra scarf in snow. Rounding out the album is “Oxygen,” which bases itself in a 3/4 beat, a unique choice in a more hip-hop based genre. In Moon Cycles, Tatl Tael gives listeners a taste of something new and distinct while keeping to the classic nostalgic energy that makes lo-fi so loved."
