Trent and Shellie Monk (We Are The Monks) are a husband and wife duo out of Nashville, TN, but they live full time on the road with their two kids, Oliver and Amelia.
Trent Monk began his music career as the former half of Monk and Neagle, a duo formed in college. The two were fairly successful, releasing a self-titled album and a second project, The Twenty-First Time. However, after deciding to pursue different paths, the pair ended up splitting, leaving Trent unsure ofwhat to do next. Eventually, he decided to stop pursuing music, and began supporting himself by waiting tables, doing carpentry work, and going to culinary school. It wasn’t even in the picture anymore, but still Trent felt a calling back towards music and eventually, a calling to share music as a family.
Fast-forward to 2019. The pair has release 4 projects: We Are The Monks (2014), A Very We Are The Monks Christmas (2015), Hymns (2016), and The Long Way Home (2018). Their goal is to offer, through music, the hope found in Jesus....more
