With his moniker Quibus, Martijn Holtslag (1992, NL) creates atmospheric soundjourneys that will take you on a trip through the backdrop of your own imagination. Airy guitarmelodies, analog synths, mystic violin echo’s, soothing trumpet details, deep basslines and minimalistic, alienating vocals. A voyage that puts a spell on you as much as it makes you want to move.Quibus came as Martijns personal urge to dive into more growth came to surface. A transformation from his earlier work, into drowning in quieter, more nuanced, introspective sonic experiments. This resulted in Quibus' first EP ‘Save Some’, which was released at the international criticly acclaimed electronic music label “Shipwrec”.
Besides producing Holtslag had the desire to play his compositions with a six-piece live band (booked by Muzink).
In february 2017 Quibus released a Live EP with four one-shot, one-take videos that were premiered at Gonzo Circus, Fuzz Magazne, Pinguin Radio and The Daily Indie. Besides that Quibus played at De Wereld Draait Door (The Netherlands biggest TV show that features music). Quibus’ track Breathe had more than 250000 streams and besides that plays at the national touring festival Popronde.
Quibus remixed Petter Carlsen, The Benelux, MSNTHRPHX and GOSTO, which were premiered at Noisey, Vice, Thump and DJMAG....more
