James Harcourt

James Harcourt is a UK based producer, inspired by an upbringing in a run down and miserable 1980's Britain, on it's knees after years of grey, traditionalist authority which gave rise to a decade of rebellious creativity and brilliance in popular and alternative music throughout the decade, culminating in the UK rave era in the late 80's and early 90's - and the ensuing hedonism and incredible energy of the 90's club scene and a purple patch for UK music in general. These formative inspirations combine with a love of contemporary electronic sounds made possible by the advanced sonic capabilities of modern production software and techniques, combined with the warmth and character of classic synths and machines. His sound is primarily dancefloor music - and it remains contemporary whilst echoing the qualities that persist in the best dance music of the past - strong melodies, emotional response and the element of groove.
