Jerzon Laya Cañete aka. "JL CAÑETE" is a Pop, Rock and Acoustic Singer-Songwriter from City Of Balanga, Bataan. A Professional High School MAPEH Teacher.
He wrote his first song entitled Dakila Ka Oh Aming Diyos when he was 13 years old and won the Best Doxology. He continue to write songs, all throughout the years his composition numbered to almost 70 original songs.
He wants to inspire everyone to love music and give an inspiration through writing an original music. His passion in music brings him happiness, love and respect to one another. He wants to create music with his own style, color, and creativity.
This pandemic bring him closer to accidentally met Ricky Sanchez a Famous Gospel Singer-Songwriter who listened to one of his composition and discover his potential talent in songwriting, eventually became his mentor and patienly teached him techniques in songwriting to fully showcase his hidden potential.
After a series of one on one session with his mentor. He compete in the 2021 songwriting contest all over the province of Bataan and won the grand prize with his song Bataeño the song use as an official theme song in yearly celebration of Arts Month in the province of Bataan. Way back in the year 2018 his two songs entitled: MS and Akoy Tao Lamang reached the Top 500 of the 2018 Himig Handog Songwriting Contest of ABS CBN.
