Siamese Youth are a duo from Berlin, whose unique blend of 80s-inspired Day-Glo pop, embracingly warm synths and infectious melodies has thrilled the Synthwave community and propelled them to the forefront of the scene. Siamese Youth are Mark Gritsenko and Christoph 'Hadl' Hassel. They met in the city of Berlin – the vibrant melting pot for creative energy and new ideas. The connection between the two was unmistakable and soon Siamese Youth was born.
The duo’s music quickly won a lot of favour in the synth community. Two collaborations with the British pioneer of the genre "Futurecop!" directly led to a record deal with the New York based label NewRetroWave - the leading label and blog in Synthwave. Hundreds of thousands of plays on YouTube followed and the band’s fan base is constantly growing. Inspired by the splendid reception of the first releases, Siamese Youth have written their debut album Electric Dreams which the band themselves describe as “a projector for the past and a generator for the future”. Already two vinyl pressings of the album were sold out as well as the first edition of cassettes...more
