R&B singer/songwriter Kate Macias was born in Houston and has always been around music since she was little. Kate’s grandpa was in a trio group and she also has two cousins who like to make rap music. She started off as a dancer so she was always doing something musically related. It wasn’t until she was 15 that she took music seriously. At age 15 she started writing songs . Her experiences motivated her to put something out. Kate had her grandpa help her with her vocals every Saturday. It wasn’t until age 16 that Kate went to Sessions Music for singing classes .
