Factor Eight’s primary motivation in creating music is to inspire emotion in the listener. This is why they have found a passion in scoring film, as the collaboration of music with other art forms only heightens this potential. For the last 5 years, the experimental electronic artist has been making waves in the music and film industries both locally to their home in Canada, as well as internationally, starting out simply by learning and sharing music through the internet. He has since amassed a captivated online audience with acclaimed tracks like ‘The Beginning’ from his debut 2016 album, ‘Dust’, and created original scores for ambitious visual media projects, now having worked with prestigious brands like Gillette, So You Think You Can Dance, GMC, Jaybird, and The United Way, to name a few. His esteemed reputation is proven by a 2018 SOCAN Foundation Award, and three consecutive Western Canadian Music Award nominations for Visual Media Composer of the Year in 2016, 2017, and recently in 2018 with the short biopic ‘Citizen’. Factor Eight continues to bring an ambitious, experimental approach to both solo and collaborative projects, investing in the capacity for art to affect positive change in individuals and their communities.
