    Quichenight is the pseudonymous brainchild of Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist Brett Rosenberg. In the tradition of pop-cult acts NRBQ, Alex Chilton, and Dwight Twilley, Rosenberg’s songs are loaded with hooks, anchored by lyrics that are simultaneously literate, emotionally-jarring, a little goofy. Over eight self-produced/performed albums, Quichenight developed a style that melds the documentarian DIY recordings of 1990s Guided by Voices with the traditional chops of 60s Nashville players Kenny Buttrey and Wayne Moss. Quichenight’s latest, “Dork in the Dark” (Burger Records, due 11/23/19) is an uptempo, danceable mash of Stooges thrash, surfy twang, and American-style Beatles power pop.
