The Hero and a Monster started as an acoustic act in 2017 by Tyler Holden and released its first single “saved?” that June. Tyler went on to find a drummer named Ethan Mannon who would become the studio/live drummer but they had to part ways unfortunately due to different paths after their debut EP released entitled “always”. Tyler wasn’t completely satisfied with what the bands sound was and decided to do a metalcore song with Louisiana based producer Zack Keel.
