Abass Akande Obesere is popularly known as Omo Rapala is a famous Fuji singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter. He was born on 20th January 1965 in Ibadan, the largest city of Western Nigeria. Although he is a native of Ibadan, Oyo State, Abass Akande Obesere grew up in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Before becoming a musician, Abass Akande ventured into boxing and was a boxer for a while then he became an electrician, before finally becoming a musician. He is married with five children and he has all of his family staying in Ireland.

Career
After realizing that a career in boxing and a career as an electrician is not his calling. Obesere ventured into Fuji music.
