Fernando Ferreira leaves Guinea Bissau at the age of 5, heading to Cape Verde with his family. His father, a mornas singer, influences the way he hears and feels the music, but not only morna made him grow. Brazilian music enters in his life during his adolescence. Her mother made him discover the Fado and Songs. During high school, he forms different projects of Portuguese popular music, which allows him to access the music from the world.
Multi-faceted artist, he enters in the world of theater working with different diectors (portuguese and international). In television he participated in series. In cinema, in films such as “O Herói” (by Zezé Gamboa – Winer of a Sundance Festival Award). Attended the School of Music at the National Conservatory and acted as a singer in several cultural facilities, television programs and theaters.
His first album, Mestiço (2010), subscribes lusophony influences. With “Mantenhas” (2021), that means: greetings in creole, Fernando Ferreira insists on treading a Lusophone identity that indelibly structures the look, hearing and feeling of this artist.
