Three childhood friends Auguste RIM, Haitem ZAITER and Roger SAMNIG decided to form together a group, X Maleya, which would materialize the expression of their music. Many of X Maleya songs become very popular and trendy online with a great number of streaming and downloads on Boomplay.
Career
When the group X Maleya was created in 1996, these three young boys did not know that they would become real world stars, ambassadors of Cameroonian culture.across borders. Even if time and music have made them famous, they jealously guard their values that they have learned over the trials. Love, friendship, peace, humility and trust in God are the key principles that guided their steps on the path to success. Through their music, X-MALEYA offers us a very varied and quite rich range of Bantu sounds, mixed with the sounds that characterize their different origins and musical sensibilities. Jazz, country, reggae, Rhythm and Blues (R'n'B), Afro pop,... to name a few... are all rhythms that inspire them.
X signifies the great mysterious unknown which is the life and the diversity of origins of the members of the group.
MALEYA means advice in the Duala language (Bantu language very widespread in the Littoral region of Cameroon). Without any claim to give lessons, but rather with a real concern to contribute to the universality of peace and more particularly in Africa, X Maleya gives us advice through the Bantu song of Roger, universality and diversity music of Haïs and the charm and groove and R'n'B rhythms of Auguste. To listen to them, modernity and tradition have never been so in symbiosis. Watching them on stage is a true artistic feast for the eyes. This is proof that there is indeed a universal message in music, that of LOVE and MIXTURE conveyed by X Maleya.
X Maleya represents today an essential value of the Cameroonian music scene and constitutes a source of inspiration for the youth that these three young people want to supervise. Holder since 2015 of their own label and production house "XM Music", X Maleya has produced more than one young Cameroonian talent and has been a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF since 2016.
