Joseph Boma Campbell, popularly known as Jay the Dreamer, is a Nigerian Artist. He grew up in River State, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Jay traveled to the US to further his studies but also devoted time to harnessing his artistic talent/passion for creating music and fashion. Jay the dreamer released his first single in 2017 showcasing his rapping prowess and lively melodic vibe on “Vamonos .” He subsequently released "Coldest," a song that revealed his more chill and emotional side. He was starting to build a name for himself in the community and is soon becoming one of the best upcoming talents from Port Harcourt and Tulsa. Jay’s story is one of a young dreamer trying to overcome all his flaws, weaknesses, adversities, and doubts to achieve his dreams against all odds. Using music as an outlet allows him to share his stories to inspire others as he continues to strive. Enriched by two different cultures, Jay’s music is influenced by artists like J. Cole, Burna Boy, Drake, M.I. Abaga,Lecrae, WizKid, Wande Coal, and Akon and extends from Rap to Afrobeat. Now he's delving further into his origins, venturing fully embracing the Afrobeat/fusion with his highly anticipated single “Gyrate” releasing June 24th and his debut project EP dropping summer of 2022.
