Born on 27 January 1981, Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave is a Zimbabwean recording artist whose passion for music kick-started at a tender age. She attended Mutoko High School where she was a member of a group the Heaven Bound Family. Before choosing a career, she initially wanted to study teaching or marketing but all these dreams were shattered when she met veteran gospel singer Elias Musakwa in 2000. She became part of his backing vocalists at a church function when one of his backing vocalists pulled out. Fortunately, she had her demo with a few songs which she gave to Musakwa after that show.
