Denis McLean began to sing as a child and became a Christian in 1998. In 2008 a DJ (Kevin Smith) from Atlanta heard him ministering at an event via the internet and asked Denis to record a song on a mix CD that he would be giving out to the youth. He sent Denis the 'Drop leaf' rhythm to which He wrote the song entitled 'Nobody Told Me' which speaks of people who know the truth of who Jesus Christ is, but withhold that information for their own agendas, and to the detriment of their followers.
Denis was also approached by ‘DJ Redz,’ from His Majesty's Sound System, who asked him to write a song for the 'High Priest' rhythm to which Denis partnered with a young man named Jahmari and together wrote 'When The Enemy Sought'.
Denis McLean released an album entitled “Seek,” which peaked at number 3 in the secular Dub-vendor music charts and proved to be a landmark for gospel reggae music. Denis participates in outreaches on Moss-side, Manchester, Bristol and Notting hill Carnivals and also Brixton, Wandsworth, and Rochester Prisons, where he ministers to the inmates. He has also received the Praizetec music award for Contribution to Gospel Music.
Denis McLean is currently finished his second album entitled ‘Strive’, as of 17th February 2021, which is soon to be released....more
