Newark, New Jersey-born, multifaceted rap artist Chad B puts into his life-inspired music the perfect contrast between hungry and humble.
Chad B isn’t a new artist. His career, like a rocket, was soaring upward in 2005 when the infectious, dance single “Hit It” was played by DJ Prostyle at New York City radio station Power 105.1 and featured as the New Joint of The Day on B.E.T.’s 106 & Park. Independently, without the involvement of a label, the national exposure and support from the DJs built enough organic momentum to tour his fiery, foot-tapping bangers across the U.S., France, Amsterdam, Holland, Belgium, and more.
As his name grew on a worldwide scale, the passing of Chad’s mother–who raised him and his five siblings as a single parent–inspired the decision to step out from under the limelight. The hiatus didn’t cease recording; he made music as a form of therapy to cope rather than a business.
Life is the biggest inspiration and influence in what shapes his sound, style, and approach to being an artist. There is just as much to celebrate as it is to mourn. Drawing from painful hardships like his mother’s passing or living in a shelter after his childhood home burned down allows his art to be a dynamic mirror that reflects life at it's most genuine and raw, but that doesn’t mean there’s no celebrations to be had or good times to commemorate.
