Qweku Winky is a young Ghanaian artist based in Accra,Lapaz. I’m an independent artist. My main genre is Hiphop but I sometimes hop on other genres too.
My music is sometimes influenced by stuffs I hear around me or see on social media and also I write music depending on the mood I’m in at a particular moment. My music journey started when I was in primary 6. I used to rap to songs by Emperaw( a Ghanaian rapper then, now a graphic designer) and multi-award winning Ghanaian rapper Medikal, when I realized I could learn their songs and perfectly sing/rap them. I felt I could also write my own music. So that was when everything started. When I started writing, everything I wrote was waaaaacckk But I never stopped, I kept my head up and believed in the process and it was worth it. Fast forward 2021 I was nominated at the 1st Edition of TOP AFRICA MUSIC AWARDS in Ghana for THE BEST HIPHOP SINGLE and THE BEST COLLABORATION category and I amassed as the 2nd runner UP for both categories...more
