GLD’s existence is the result of two individuals set on changing what it means to make and perform music. Bonded over the desire to improve the world with their message they create music that breaks the rules and defies genres altogether. Rethinking how you listen and categorize music, that’s the goal.

Together Mattie and Jake have worked to take their love for the energized hardcore, punk, and jazz communities that raised them, and combine those influences with their love of hip-hop, pop, electronic, and all varieties of music to create something new and entirely unique. They convey this passion through their Dj sets, hybrid-live performances, and genre-bending originals, collaborations, and remixes. GLD’s wide range of style and unique intensity has garnered them the support of the titans of the electronic music industry. Skrillex, Diplo, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, Floastradamus, Excision, and NGHTMRE just to name a few. GLD maintains diversity in all areas and have also closely been working with many powerhouse hip-hop producers and heavy rockers to truly usher in the post-genre future.
