LA-based SOKAMBA is a collective that produces live multimedia art shows, creative educational workshops & performing arts classes. The collective is made up of a diverse group of artists: dancers, acrobats, actors, musicians, sculptors, animators, cinematographers, XR creators & software engineers. SOKAMBA has been facilitating cross-media creation since its inception in 2012, and is led by Rissi Zimmerman.
Petrichor (A Sonic Journey) serves as the score to SOKAMBA's 2018 dome show of the same name, & represents a 4+ year journey for a talented cohort of internationally-bound musicians, led by Justin Bell & Christian Robinson (aka Correlator). Many of the pieces are created via collaborative & improvisational techniques. Genres float by effortlessly - you're guided through an ambient sound-bath, to folk, an underbelly of glitchy/dub-influenced electronica, to a cinematic and encompassing finale - & emerge out the other side reflective and poised for growth & healing.
