Ilza Ponko is a Cuban-Russian, singer-songwriter. Born in La Habana, Cuba, her family relocated to Moscow, Russia, when she was 3 years old. At the age of 7, Ilza started pursuing music by writing her first song, while learning to play the piano, which was the beginning of her fascination with the arts.
At age 12, she returned to her native Cuba, where she continued to immerse herself in music and songwriting at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory. As an adult, Ilza moved to the United States to pursue her artistic career. Having signed with Emilio Estefan and Liverpool Music, she was able to garner recognition in Spain, where she received a ‘40 Principales’ Best New Artist Award Nomination and achieved a Top 20 Single with “La Sonrisa De La Luna,” from her first album (Extrasmall).
“Tu te lo pierdes” is the first single of her forthcoming album, with songs in English and Spanish, produced by Carlos Rodgarman and coproduced by Ilza. The album has been a turning point in her musical direction with more mature sounds that resonate in her deeply personal and poetic songs that express the sorrow of an impossible love, the celebration of hope and wondrous possibilities....more
