Laya Laya are a writer/producer duo from London, who originally connected in 2017 via a UK music blog. Unbeknownst to either of them, and quite randomly, both Freya and Super had been through health issues that had forced them to re-assess their jobs and reach out to music as a means of recovery. Having both grown up in London as 2nd-Gen British Asians, RnB and UK Dance was a shared love. However, as 'Laya Laya' the pair have developed an alternative but approachable blend of electronic RnB and pop, reflecting their commitment to a good melody as well as an interest in all things ‘other worldly’. The duo have spent the last couple of years honing their quirky sound from their Hackney Wick studio, also home to Island Records’ recent signing, Youngr, Zola Blood, and House Legend D Ramirez.
