Success doesn't come easy. Since day one, persistence has been the name of the game for RoyStar SoundSick. Long before entering the world of professional entertainment, Star was just another kid suffering the growing pains of living on the South Side of Chicago. After a few years of professional recording, RoyStar SoundSick's music caught the attention of Detroit Hip Hop Legend Brian "Champtown" Harmon and Entertainment lawyer Don Wilson, ultimately leading to Star signing his first major label recording contract through Universal Music Group's imprint label Canorous Records.
The producer, songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist, born Joseph S. Watson II, made early moves during the 2010s in Minneapolis, MN before his budding solo career took off in Los Angeles, CA. As 1/4 of SoundSick, Star signed released the debut album “Room 109” in February of 2012.
During the next few years, he branched out artistically, effectively taking time to work on major film and television projects. As a lead artist, his commercial mixtape campaign arrived just ahead of the 2016 presidential election beginning with his “Out The Coupe” Series. 2018 saw Steezy’s EP release “StarBound”, a 3 track EP aimed at satisfying simpler stylistics of the current wave.
In early 2020, Star took his hand at a self-produced Pop/RnB crossover album “3 Peace” effectively establishing a new lane for the artist to evolve in....more
