D.C. rapper Shy Glizzy grew out of strutting early street singles and raw mixtapes into more refined material as the years went on. He began building an audience with the infectious, youthful arrogance of 2014's "Awwsome," and from there went on to chart success and worldwide fame with albums like 2018's atmospherically trappy Fully Loaded.
Shy Glizzy was born Marquis Amonte King in 1992 and grew up in the greater Washington, D.C. area. His father died when he was an infant, and King was involved with petty street crime early on, doing time for robbery charges when he was 16.
