JBZ is a rousing artist from Essex/East London, during his early years JBZ was known for his ability to absorb /educate different crafts and play various positions in any situation. JBZ has successfully transferred this energy to music. Whilst graduating with a psychology degree, JBZ hosted university parties with long term friend DJ SPACESHIP BILLY, who is now Burna boys official DJ. JBZ learned live mic, event planning and more as they toured the country to different universities. Forward a decade later JBZ has been involved in all aspects of the music business, including radio plugging with NTV Collective and has over 100 +podcast episodes with THE REAL GROUPCHAT. JBZ contributions to the UK rap/afro scene have been immense, purely driven from his passion for music.
Growing up in East London Hainault JBZ grew up on grime listening to SKEPTA, GRIMINAL and other UK legends sculpting his intricate flow and direct delivery. JBZ explains, growing up his mentors were his peers from his neighbourhood, where he learned his most crucial life lessons. These personal stories mixed with sharp humour are the foundation of JBZ adjacent content series KARMA SUTRA.
Earlier this year JBZ latest track RICE amassed over 500k video streams and 200k Spotify streams, from a successful strategy aimed at South African dancers. After a strong start to the year getting multiple BBC Radio 1 plays JBZ has gone on to perform at festivals such as Afroplay Festival & AfroPiano festival. As a result of this success RICE was remixed into an Amapiano track; RICE M TOUCH REMIX has over 100 Shazams. JBZ has been able to host his own nights in H7Avenue, FACTORY 15 and world famous SMADE LOUNGE.
