Melxdie pronounced Melodie, whose full name is Melodie Young grew up in a Peruvian and Lebanese household. Her father, a former musician in Lima, Peru, strongly influenced her love for Latin jazz and salsa music.
Since the young age of ten years old, she studied musical theatre and soul, which inspires her to incorporate those elements in her music today. Due to her multicultural upbringing, she carries a strong variation through her music that to some can be seen as a paradox. This irony compliments her craft by allowing her to adapt with various artists she collaborates with and pushes the limits of the music industry by offering something new.
Throughout her musical journey, she has been a part of a number of collaborations with various urban artists, such as: Pressa, Tory Lanez, and Mavado Gully but it is her authenticity and writing vernacular that stands out so strongly which resulted in “Summer Love”, featuring Tory Lanez charting Billboards Top 100 and Top 10 in RBnB & Soul.
She layers spoken word in Spanish, French and English over industrial beats. This fusion of versatile sounds encompasses her dynamic personality into her musical creations....more
