Opare Edwin (Stage name: I’m Edi) is a self-taught Poet & Spoken Word Artist from Ghana.
For one who grew up in a setting where expressive suppression was the perfect coping
mechanism until he realized it disrupted his ability to generally communicate effectively with the
rest of the world,
Im Edi uses Spoken Word / Poetry as journey and destination; an emotional recovery
mechanism through expression.
His works are a time collective of the was, the is and is to come, not exclusively but mostly
personal experiences aimed at highlighting the yes and why's of being emotionally expressive
and to acknowledge its importance for one's mental health as it takes a lot of psychological
strength to bare such vulnerability to the world.
He has performed on many stages including Ehalakasa Talk party, Inspire, Chaskele, More Life
Concert (Nigeria), Kaleidoscope etc.
