Mawingu

Following a six-month hiatus in song release MAWINGU is Gilad’s first release in 2020. A moving love song written in Gilad’s signature Swahili/English style, MAWINGU is the story of a man waiting for his lover to come home. The heart wrenching lyrics tell the story of a man deeply in love, tormented and worried as he awaits the return of his love, not knowing if she will come back to him. He describes how he has done everything in his power to make his lover happy and begs her to return ‘before darkness falls, before the rain begins’.
