False Hope

The funny thing about false hope is that it's the same as true disappointment

At least if you just squint a little bit

I know I'm glass half empty these days

But it can't just be me who seems to see within the thick of it

We can build up a lie, a tall grand tale

Enravel ourselves and refuse to lift the veil

And then one day

It's all ripped away

Or we can be lead along like a conga line

Except with none of the fun and just the late drunk nights

And we convince ourselves that we're having a good time
