My light has burned out from the roots that grew around it

But better to be in the dark and grounded

Pick me up by the stem, make me a new man

I've been looking for peace and I think I've found it

It feels like glass is in my veins, I'm really trying to be okay

I'm breaking apart in the best of ways

I'm finding a place to dig a grave

For the skin that I've shed, and the mind that decayed

My heart beats for no one in this time or space

I've loosened my grip on the things that I hate

So I have the strength for the things that I crave
