The Evil Tree

The evil tree inside of me is twisting and gripping me

Physically and mentally, it will not let me be

And I don't wanna do what it tells me to do

I don't wanna act out the pain it causes on you

The roots they tangle in my brain, making me insane

All the people that were lost

Died here in vain

It mocks with limbs, reaching high to the heavens

But it left me here alone, a hollow, the revenant

Along an earthly path, I follow, I guide

Now realizing where we go when we die

Passing through the cemetery up on the hill
